If you are looking for convenience, ease of installation, and good performance (for dial-up anyway), we have the modem for you. Our 56K USB 2.0 modem has GPL drivers and support for all recent distributions of GNU / Linux. With most distributions discontinuing inclusion or support for any dialer applications of which at least one is needed to connect to the internet our dial-up software CDs (or flash drive) have become critical to making the installation and setup of dial-up modems on GNU/Linux possible and for that matter the user experience easy & seamless. Not only do most distribution not include a dailer program in a default installation they aren't including dialer programs in respective software centers either. For those in an area with 3G or 4G cellular service another option worth considering and of which will generally provide faster internet connectivity is our 4G USB cellular modem.
Note: While our modem is supported natively across distributions and releases there may be no dialer software included in the default installation of your favorite distribution. Many distributions have stopped including a dialer program and thus dial-up users are forced to download and install a dialer program separately.
