This is an anti-virus application used for the most part to find MS Windows viruses. Please be aware that at this time your Ubuntu system has a very low risk of infection. It is unlikely that you could get without significant effort a virus/spyware/or other malicious software to run properly. This software anti-virus software is not recommended for most users of this operating system.
In addition if you choose to install this software please be aware that this application is restricted in 8.04 from updating automatically. If you are prevented from manually updating signatures as an end user you will need to get assistance for updating manually:
If you are a technical user the instructions are as follows:
Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal
Copy and paste the following line:
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop
Hit enter, type your administrator password, and hit enter again
Open ClamTk/ClamAV and run the updates.
Copy and paste the following line:
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor start
Hit enter, type your administrator password, and hit enter again
Now you should be fully up to date.
