A hex editor, also called a binary file editor or byte editor, is a type of program that allows a user to view and edit the raw and exact contents of files, that is, at the byte level, in contrast to the higher level interpretations of the same contents that are provided by other, higher level application programs. The GHex program can view and edit files in two ways, hex or ascii. Good for editing saved game files.
