Linux Mint 22.2 features a brand new app called “Fingwit“. Fingwit is a fingerprint configuration tool compatible with the TPE-F4500 fingerprint reader.

Notes: You may need to run the following command from a terminal once before the fingerprint application will recognize your scanned fingerprint:

sudo dmesg

Other notes: It appears in Linux Mint 22.2 you MUST enter a password on first boot, but after that you can utilize your fingerprint to login (after a log out or a time out) without entering a password.
