PenguinVPN Travel Router for Easy Switching Between 4G & Wireless Connections

If you've ever wanted a mini VPN wireless router that could protect you on the road while staying at hotels and while on the move this documentation is for you.

What this documentation enables:

- Connecting to a hotel's wifi and getting through the captive portal (ie where you often have to click a button that says "I agree" before full internet access is granted)

- Automatically connects to our PenguinVPN service (PenguinVPN subscription required) once connected to a 4G connection and/or wireless access point and routes all LAN traffic through the VPN upon successful connection

- Easy switching between a wireless connection and a 4G connection

What happens once the configuration is applied:

- When you plug in a USB 4G modem that is configured the router will connect to the cellular provider and upon connecting bring up the VPN

- When you click the connect button for the access point you want to connect to the router will bring down the 4G connection, connect to the access point, and provide you with up to 3 minutes to get through any captive portal if no internet connectivity is detected. When full internet connectivity is detected the VPN will be brought up automatically. If full connectivity is not achieved within 3 minutes the wifi will be disabled.

The shorter version on how to configure the router that uses an archived copy of the configuration can be found here.
